Here’s a recap and review of what happened in last nights episode of Heroes. First I thought I’d share Kristin’s (E!Online) thoughts with you:

WHAT WE LEARNED

Bennet’s Got Problems:  This was not a good week to be Noah Bennet. His daughter’s dating one of his former victims, he left fingerprints all over the Ukraine, Mohinder’s gone AWOL, and he apparently gets shot through the eyeball in the not-too-distant future. Can Clairebear save her daddy? And/or 93 percent of the human race? Or will the preminition painting of his death come true? I have a bad feeling…

Holy Muscle Definition, Batman!  We learned, first and foremost, that the only thing hotter than shirtless Peter being tortured is shirtless Peter being hosed down. Hot da-yamn. Also, did anyone else tend to believe Mama Petrelli when she said Peter was the most powerful of them all? I think the woman knows of what she speaks…

Character Growth:  So, it seems, Matt Parkman inherited his father’s abilities wholesale, which is somewhat different than the genetic downloads we’ve seen in the past. No matter, as it stands now, Matt has outgrown his father and overthrown him, which any bard will tell you is an essential part of the hero’s journey. Hopefully this we’ll see much more from Parkman in episodes to come. Grunny, bless is heart, joins Adrian Pasdar and Jack Coleman and Jimmy-Jean Louis as one of the strong and sensible characters on this show in whom it is easy to put faith. More, please.

Kensei Is an Immortal! Can there be only one? As we teased previously, Kensei is alive and well, 400 years in the future. Adam Monroe is very very old, and very very mean. And I am very very much loving David Anders as the villain we so love him to play! I mean, come on, Linderman was his flunky?! That’s awesome! Delving into the Generations is definitely a worthwhile pursuit, for us as viewers and for the characters in the show.

OK, now MY turn: Personally I thought it was a good episode..far..FAR from great. I can only be honest, I won’t sell you bull because what’s the point? I’m just glad the TERRIBLE Hiro/Kensei/Princess whatsherface storyline appears to be over..that was one BIG mistake..or at least it just didn’t work out how the writers envisaged it would. It was clumsy, over-stretched, unbelievable (in a bad way) and silly. HOWEVER, it was perhaps a means to an end, because now that we know that Adam Munroe is Kensei the ridiculous feudal Japan storyline has actually, by hook or by crook, set-up a devilishly tasty premise, with Adam (Kensei) stalking Hiro through time and among other things mentoring hapless Peter (and possibly, in time, Sylar..who knows?). So yes, this reveal was by far the best thing about this episode, I’m so surprised that the general Heroes community loved this one - are they watching the same show? Are they kidding themselves that this was good TV? Don’t get me wrong, I love the ’show’, but it’s that appreciation of how good the show ‘can’ be with drives my desire to see the show produce the goods..last night was not ‘the goods’..however it did set-up some tasty future plot-lines. Oh and how over-hyped was the ‘biohazard-Peter’ storyline? They do this every week..stop with the sensationalised NBC advertising - it’s fun at first but when the episode sucks, well it’s not fun at all.

Anyhoo, we can all breathe a sigh of relief as the worst story arc in Heroes history is finally over and now we can get to the good stuff..well, at least until December 3, when Season 2 of Heroes now ends. Bah!
