Heroes Clues: “The Kindness of Strangers”

Heroes-Hype! Presents: Heroes Clues

Below are the Heroes Clues, analysis and screencaps for episode 2.04 of Heroes: “The Kindness of Strangers”.

Heroes Clues

Monica mimics the tomato decoration that she saw on TV without realising that she was doing it – note: it is actually ‘better’ than the one she copied.

Heroes Clues

Nathan’s photo of the 12 elders. They are (from top left to right): some unknown blonde woman, Linderman (Dead), Arthur “Dallas” Petrelli (Dead), Angela Petrelli, Kaito Nakamura (Dead), “Bob”, a brunette woman, Papa Parkman (Matt’s father), another woman, Charles Deveaux (Dead) and a dark haired man.

Four of these people are dead – Charles died of Cancer (although Kaito hinted that he may have been killed via foul play), Arthur Petrelli apparantly died from suicide, Linderman was killed by D.L., who phased his fist through his head, and Kaito was pushed from the rooftop by “The Hooded Guy”, and subsequently died. From the remaining 8 we only know the identity of  TWO, ‘possibly’ THREE: Bob (Company man), Ma Petrelli and Matt’s father ‘might’ be the nightmare man.

Heroes Clues

Another shot of Nathan’s alternate face – which once again only appears to himself when he looks in mirrors. Once he smashed the mirror he saw his ‘true’ reflection once again.

Heroes Clues

Micah’s hand of comfort could perhaps have unwittingly ’amplified’ Monica’s ability to mimic, as we see a nice close-up of her eye’s ‘recording’ Rey Mysterio’s “619″.

Heroes Clues

Monica uses the wrestling move that she saw on television.

Heroes Clues

The Godsend symbol can be seen in Molly’s eyes when she tells Matt that his father is the “Nightmare Man”.

Mini Review “The Kindness of Strangers”

Tuesday, October 16th, 2007

OK, so this is only a ‘mini-review’, I’ll post my in-depth review later.

I liked this episode, not quite as much as I loved “Kindred”, but it wasn’t too far off. However this was tinged by a certain Heroes character who by and large gets on my nerves. Enter Claire Bennet or Butler or whatever her name is these days. I mean how selfish is she? She knows that trusting people, who could possibly be out to get her and her family (and there are people out to get her and her family), could result in herself or a family member getting captured or worse – remember Sylar, Claire? Or does your memory also regenerate from scratch?  Anyway, whilst I have warmed slightly – and I mean ‘slightly’ to West, I still don’t trust him, he’s just way too random and those deep eyes of his..scarey. Of there’s more to why I don’t trust him, but hey, i’m feeling superficial. The ‘Hollywood’ moment between him and Claire was cool and cheeseball all at the same time – I didn’t know whether to clap or hurl.

Enough about Claire, lets touch on the other main points of the eppy: Micah’s family seems cool. His brat of a cousin has provided me with more laughs than some of the real Heroes have done for an entire season. Nana’s cool, tho I sense there’s alot more to come from her and of course, Monica Dawson is a kickass character. Whats her power? Like some kinda photo-mimic ability? Eitherway it’s well cool, if a little close to Peter and Sylar’s talents. Also it was good to see the Rey Mysterio and the WWE get a mention, what with them being real-life ‘heroes’ for many.

I LOVE Maya and Alejandro..or maybe I just love Dania Ramirez? Yes, that too, but seriously, those two are excellent characters who’s story I love to watch. It’s a shame that Heroes becomes predictable yet again, with Sylar just happening to pop up randomly (at Least LOST ‘explains’ it’s coincidences or offers a framework for them), but still, it was cool to have the Symaster back in action. For a moment I thought he was a bad boy turned good, but as the scene played out, he’s just rediscovering his own bad boy ways – hey, he’s TV’s best out and out villain, you gotta love him!

Nathan’s face turned ugly again – hope they expediate that story cos I’m losing interest (I thought Heroes delivered rapid answers??). Ma Petrelli the sacrificial lamb? Well I never, life is full of surprises! Of course, the look on her stony face as she was being carted away told another story, however.

No Peter (BOO!), No Niki (Meh) and no Hiro and Kensei (Meh).

As I said, this was a good episode, but just like LOST experienced, the 2nd season is always a tough one. I just feel that something or someone is missing (no, not D.L.). In saying that, perhaps we need some more Linderman or Claude-type characters?..rogues who give the show another dimension.

Almost forgot – the ending was way cool! Is Molly trapped in a nightmare with Parkman’s dad!?? Please let it be so, if only because THAT would be a cool thing to see unravel!

Rating: 7/10
