News: ‘Heroes Post Show’

Saturday, October 20th, 2007

Heroes-Hype! News

As I mentioned last week, G4 have acquired Heroes. On Saturday, November 3rd, all episodes from the second season will be shown. Then, at 11 pm EST G4 will begin a weekly segment called the “Heroes Post Show”. It’s a live and interactive segment that will feature exclusive interviews with members of the cast and crew, live viewer commentary, interactive polls, behind-the-scenes footage and a whole bunch of other ‘top secret’ stuff. The Post Show will air new content, new interviews, new cast and crew members, and plenty more, all on a weekly basis.

Our friend Ryan over at Heroes Wiki will be one of the hosts of the show. People interested in viewing a taping of the show in Southern California can contact him using this link. There’s also opportunities for fans to take part in a mobile way, which you can read about at Heroes Wiki.

Good luck with the show Ryan!

‘Fangirl’ Bell & Kring Interview

Saturday, October 20th, 2007

Kristen Bell has been speaking some more about her upcoming role in Heroes. She reveals that although she’s only scheduled for 13 episodes, both herself and the producers are open about making her a more permanent fixture:

“This has been a great relationship so far. And there was no hesitancy with entering as far as becoming a main part of the show, just … from both ends it was like, ‘Let’s feel each other out and see how you fit into the show and if you’re happy,’” Bell says. “… So, you know, I’ll be one of the ones that keeps my fingers crossed that I won’t get killed.”

Heroes creator Tim Kring also chipped in, adding that Kristen’s ‘Elle’ will serve as a cautionary tale for the rest of our Heroes:

The one thing that we will say is that … this character is tied to this company that we have talked about for the last year on the show that Claire’s father was involved with. And so one of the ideas was that this character … is actually raised within the Company. It’s in some ways a cautionary tale of what would happen to any of our characters had they lived with their powers their whole life the way Elle has.

Asked whether we’ll be meeting all of the ‘elders’ in the photo, Kring says it’s more than likely that we will:

We will be seeing the people in the photo. I think all of them will be [played by the same people], which I just have to tell you, the photo has got a life of its own. Logistically it was so difficult to actually come up with this photograph that’s used now and refers to things that are shot well in the future here; it was very difficult to get that all lined up. But yes, the photo is as accurate as we can make it.

And back to Kristen, she admits to being somewhat of a Fangirl, which will no doubt please all those Fanboys out there:

I’m sort of coming into my own as a fangirl and seeking things out — like the New Beverly [Cinema] in Los Angeles had a double feature the other night of Tron and the Last Starfighter. So I was like, I kind of need to see that at least just once in my life because that seemed like an awesome double feature, you know?

‘Origins’ Drops it’s Name & Elle’s Bells

Friday, October 19th, 2007

Kristen Bell is ‘Elle’
The Watcher reports that the Heroes spin off series ‘Heroes: Origins’ will lose it’s name:

It was titled “Heroes: Origins,” but it will no longer be called that. A representative for the network said that a title for the new series had not been chosen yet.

The Watcher also has some spoilery stuff on new ‘Hero’, Elle, who is played by Kristen Bell. Elle will make her debut in this coming Mondays “Fight or Flight”episode and it is believed that she is connected to the company – in fact she was raised by them. She also has links to Peter, who she is looking for, and H.R.G and Claire – who she has a ‘special’ relationship with (Sister, anyone?). Whilst many of our Heroes (Sylar aside) struggle with the morality issues and the power that their abilities give them, Elle is more than happy to use hers. She is also believed to be behind Peter’s recent memory loss.

It all sounds very interesting, basically she sounds like the crazy female version of Sylar, only more jovial. Read more here.

SPOILER: The Down-lo on D.L.

Wednesday, October 17th, 2007

OK, Spoiler alert, Spoiler alert – look away NOW if you don’t want to know ANYTHING about the future episodes of Heroes!

D.L. RobertsWord on the street (the ‘street’ being E! Online) has it that D.L. Roberts, ‘Mr. Phase’ himself, will be making a shock return to the series in episode 8! However, don’t get your hopes up D.L. fans, as it appears that this episode is a ‘flashback’, titled “Four Months Ago” (*groan*, how original!). Here’s what E!’s Kristen has to say:

We’ll be getting to know D.L.’s relatives a lot better over the coming weeks, leading up to a return appearance (in episode eight) by Leonard Roberts himself.

Kristen, being the little spoiler digger that she is, also has a few shocking details on my personal favourites, Maya and Alejandro:

I know some of you haven’t been too keen on the pair you’re calling “Nikki and Paolo” (in homage to Lost’s ill-received party crashers last season). But trust me, there’s some insanely good stuff coming up to make you get invested. For starters, Sylar will be all hooked up with Maya for at least a handful of episodes, using her for her power to kill everyone, since he’s currently a powerless puss. And then there’s the jaw-dropping moment where you find out exactly what kind of “homicidio” Maya is wanted for. Let’s just it involves a wedding and is above and beyond anything you’d think this Latina cutie-patootie could be capable of. Prepare to freak.

Wow, sounds interesting..this could allude to the momentary ‘delight’ that Maya showed in “Kindred” just before she purposefully tried to kill those cops. It seems that ‘Maya’-be there’s more to this hottie than meets the eye..

Mini Review “The Kindness of Strangers”

Tuesday, October 16th, 2007

OK, so this is only a ‘mini-review’, I’ll post my in-depth review later.

I liked this episode, not quite as much as I loved “Kindred”, but it wasn’t too far off. However this was tinged by a certain Heroes character who by and large gets on my nerves. Enter Claire Bennet or Butler or whatever her name is these days. I mean how selfish is she? She knows that trusting people, who could possibly be out to get her and her family (and there are people out to get her and her family), could result in herself or a family member getting captured or worse – remember Sylar, Claire? Or does your memory also regenerate from scratch?  Anyway, whilst I have warmed slightly – and I mean ‘slightly’ to West, I still don’t trust him, he’s just way too random and those deep eyes of his..scarey. Of there’s more to why I don’t trust him, but hey, i’m feeling superficial. The ‘Hollywood’ moment between him and Claire was cool and cheeseball all at the same time – I didn’t know whether to clap or hurl.

Enough about Claire, lets touch on the other main points of the eppy: Micah’s family seems cool. His brat of a cousin has provided me with more laughs than some of the real Heroes have done for an entire season. Nana’s cool, tho I sense there’s alot more to come from her and of course, Monica Dawson is a kickass character. Whats her power? Like some kinda photo-mimic ability? Eitherway it’s well cool, if a little close to Peter and Sylar’s talents. Also it was good to see the Rey Mysterio and the WWE get a mention, what with them being real-life ‘heroes’ for many.

I LOVE Maya and Alejandro..or maybe I just love Dania Ramirez? Yes, that too, but seriously, those two are excellent characters who’s story I love to watch. It’s a shame that Heroes becomes predictable yet again, with Sylar just happening to pop up randomly (at Least LOST ‘explains’ it’s coincidences or offers a framework for them), but still, it was cool to have the Symaster back in action. For a moment I thought he was a bad boy turned good, but as the scene played out, he’s just rediscovering his own bad boy ways – hey, he’s TV’s best out and out villain, you gotta love him!

Nathan’s face turned ugly again – hope they expediate that story cos I’m losing interest (I thought Heroes delivered rapid answers??). Ma Petrelli the sacrificial lamb? Well I never, life is full of surprises! Of course, the look on her stony face as she was being carted away told another story, however.

No Peter (BOO!), No Niki (Meh) and no Hiro and Kensei (Meh).

As I said, this was a good episode, but just like LOST experienced, the 2nd season is always a tough one. I just feel that something or someone is missing (no, not D.L.). In saying that, perhaps we need some more Linderman or Claude-type characters?..rogues who give the show another dimension.

Almost forgot – the ending was way cool! Is Molly trapped in a nightmare with Parkman’s dad!?? Please let it be so, if only because THAT would be a cool thing to see unravel!
